Young Minds at Work - 8 weeks

Here you can find what we provide for the pupils and the school.

This course will develop key transferable skills, listed by Forbes, that employers look for when recruiting.

The pupils will learn to work independently and as part of a team to produce products and services to sell at a stall of their own creation at an enterprise fair. They will also present their business plan to a panel of judges, (comprised of representatives from their school and outside entrepreneurs) called the Perfect Pitch.

We will guide them step by step through business theory and processes, covering everything from product selection to branding, marketing and finance ensuring that they can justify a predicted profit in order to secure a loan from us.

We offer prizes for the best presentation (as decided by the judges) and for the most profitable business at the Enterprise Fair.

The Perfect Pitch

This is the opportunity for the teams to share their business plan with the judges and convince them that they will be the most successful business at the Enterprise Fair.

Each team member presents at least one slide dependant on their job role.

What our judges think of LifeLab...

"It was such a pleasure to be a judge. The children had done such a good job and the LifeLab team were so wonderful with them, they are lucky to have them."

Joss Dickson

"I loved every minute. Judging is a way of 'paying forward' in something I firmly believe in. What LifeLab is doing is amazing."

James Davis

"The kids are very lucky to have such a great learning experience."

Paul Woodward

The Enterprise Fair

The teams create stalls decorated to enhance their brand and sell their wares to the other pupils in the school.

This exercises their sales and presentation skills as they have to manage their stock, money and prices throughout with the aim to fulfil or exceed their anticipated budgets.

What's our Impact?

We monitor students' learning on our courses through feedback forms that they complete both before and after the course. Below we have collated the data from these forms so that you can see what impact we have on the children we teach.
