First Steps - 10 weeks

Here you can find what we provide for the pupils and the school.

This course will develop key transferable skills, listed by Forbes, that employers look for when recruiting.

The pupils will learn to work independently and as part of a team to produce products and services to sell at a stall of their own creation at an enterprise fair. They will also present their business plan to a panel of judges, (comprised of representatives from their school and outside entrepreneurs) called the Perfect Pitch.

With clear visuals and explanations using simple language will guide them step by step through business theory and processes. Within an easy to follow lesson structure, which includes games and quizzes and videos, we cover everything from product selection to branding, marketing and finance ensuring that they can justify a predicted profit in order to secure a loan from us.

After their perfect pitch the students will receive personal feedback from our panel of judges. At the end of the course each child receives a certificate showing that they have completed the LifeLab First Steps program.

The school also receives an impact report showing learning that has taken place based on questionnaires that the pupils fill in and a certificate to say that they have provided enterprise education to their pupils in conjunction with LifeLab.

The Perfect Pitch

This is the opportunity for the teams to share their business plan with the judges and convince them that they will be the most successful business at the Enterprise Fair.

Every team member is encouraged to take part in this.
